My Story...
I am a Surface Pattern Designer and Illustrator, currently working and living in the beautiful, rural North Yorkshire town of Harrogate, England.
My career began with a BA Hons in Surface Pattern Design from Staffordshire University where I studied repeat pattern, screen printing, stitch and drawing techniques.
Once I graduated, I began designing graphics for kids fashion and nursery product at Mothercare UK, where I practised design mainly for textile product and gained much knowledge of manufacture processes. Expanding into the greetings industry I moved into an illustration role at Caroline Gardner, before working for Portico Designs on graphics, product concept visuals and artworking for a variety of gift and stationery product, supplying many UK high street retailers such as Waterstones, Sainsburys and WH Smith to name a few.
Before taking a leap into the freelance world, I became a Handcrafted Card Designer at Talking Pictures part of Ling Design.
Having always been a keen crafter, I also write and make for craft publications, producing their hand-stitched and paper-craft projects, as well as cover gifts, and card-making paper patterns and embellishments.
Since being a full time freelancer, I've collaborated with various clients in kids fashion and design patterns and concepts for use in home-ware, party, gift and greetings to a wide range of international clients.
Pattern and illustration can be for any surface, and I am always happy to get involved in new commissions and design challenges.
